Psystar Open Computer Tested Comments Off

Engadget received one of Psystar’s Open Computers, and played around with it for a few hours. They formed some opinions on it and they share it with their readers, along with a video. Overall it was a positive experience except the fan on the thing is way too loud. So loud in fact that they couldn’t see dealing with it on a daily basis. That fact alone probably makes me think twice about purchasing one.

They also reports that the next-gen iPhone with 3G and GPS has been spotted. Interesting if true

Get Fit, Get Energy 0

By far one of my favorite “green technology” that is affordable is the HYmini, a portable wind that acts as a a handheld, universal charger/adapter. By running, biking or standing in a strong wind you can harness renewable wind power / solar power to recharge almost all your myriad 5V digital gadgets.

The specs on the are as follows: The Lithium Ion polymer rechargeable battery has around 500 complete charge cycles. If the battery is fully charged every time, it should have at least of 1000mAh of stored capacity for you to transfer this power to other 5V devices up to 500 times. A conventional mobile phone has around 0.4Ah to 0.7 Ah of battery capacity.

After 20 minutes of charging the HYmini you can get 30 minutes out of your iPod or 4 minutes out of your cell phone.

Go ahead, show off your green badge. And look down smugly on all of your wall socket dependent friends.

* Toasts bread while simultaneously cooking a soft or hard-poached egg
* Hard boil up to 4 eggs at a time; individual toasting or poaching option
* Wide slots accommodate bagels and croissants; auto shut-off for safety

Netflix and Streaming 0

It looks like later this summer you’ll have several choices of gadgets that will stream your Netflix purchased movies to your TV. They announced on Monday that three manufacturers will be offering set top type boxes, like the one LG already offers, to consumers.

This is a good step. I believe that with the days of the video store are going to come to end in say 10 years or so though. But you can’t compete with streaming, especially with easy to use devices like Apple TV and companies like LG that can throw their money behind such ventures.

Recover Deleted Data 0

Mistakes like accidental deletion of partitions, deleting of file or folders and later realizing that it shouldn’t have been deleted are very common. During these circumstances it’s always recommended to use data recovery software for recovering lost data. Data Recovery tools are available for various scenarios like: deletion of partitions, corruption of file system, recovering deleted files or folders, recovery of photos, iPod etc. To recover data go to Disk Doctors website and download a demo of the most suitable software, try and demo and if you can see your files in the trial version go ahead and buy the full version.
